Apple CEO Ternus Claims iPhone is the Best AI Device
Apple's new CEO John Ternus stated at the Surprise and Shine event that the iPhone is currently the best AI device, emphasizing that Apple excels in data privacy compared to its competitors. Ternus has succeeded Tim Cook as CEO, who now serves as executive chairman. Apple does not plan to create new hardware for AI but aims for the iPhone to be the core of consumer interaction with AI. Ternus described the ideal AI device as a "smart personal hub," which should possess the ability to understand user context, a powerful processor, internet connectivity, a large display, high-quality cameras and microphones, long battery life, and ease of use. He stressed that the iPhone is the most suitable product to become a smart personal hub. Furthermore, Ternus emphasized Apple's commitment to data privacy, arguing that other companies treat user data as something to be collected and stored. He pointed out that trust is compromised when data is no longer under user control, which is why Apple Intelligence operates as much as possible on the device side.
