Argentina recorded a profit of 1.224 billion dollars in the second quarter due to the increase in international prices caused by the war in the Middle East. Between April and June, the price of Argentine exports rose by 13.7% year-on-year, while imports increased by 8.2%, improving the terms of trade by 5%. The trade surplus was 8.357 billion dollars. If prices had remained at the same levels as in the same period of 2025, the balance would have been 6.497 billion dollars. The largest price increase was observed in Fuel and Energy (+38.5%), influenced by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Export volumes of energy grew by 33.9% thanks to production from Vaca Muerta, raising the export value in this sector by 85.5%. Increases were also recorded in Industrial Origin Manufactures (16.8%) and Agricultural (11%). In imports, Fuels rose by 30.8%, while Vehicle prices fell by 11.5%.
