Cardano Initiates Voting and Preparations for the Dijkstra Era

The Intersect within the Cardano ecosystem announced progress in protocol development, governance, and community tools. A new parameter update proposal has been opened for voting as the transition from the van Rossem era to the Dijkstra era begins, the Constitutional Committee elections are ongoing, and the alpha testing of the Constitutional Amendment Portal has been presented to the community. The van Rossem hard fork, implemented on July 18, transitioned to Protocol Version 11, bringing improvements in Plutus performance, enhanced ledger consistency, and increased node security. Intersect indicated that the planning process for the Dijkstra era has commenced. The first Dijkstra distribution is expected to occur in several phases, including Nested Transactions, Linear Leios, and Peras. The Haskell node team aims to migrate the first two phases, Nested Transactions and Linear Leios, to the mainnet by the end of 2026. Constitutional updates are expected to come into focus following the hard fork. Discussions regarding the name for the next hard fork are ongoing, with the current trend leaning towards the name Alexander Esgen.
