In July, the total trading volume of centralized exchanges (CEX) for spot and derivatives fell to $3.76 trillion, a month-on-month decrease of 23.9%, marking the lowest level since November 2023. Among these, the CEX spot trading volume dropped to $727 billion, down 31.2%; the CEX derivatives trading volume decreased to $3.03 trillion, down 21.9%. Derivatives accounted for 80.6% of the total market trading volume, the highest since September 2023. Despite the overall decline in trading volume, the market share of decentralized exchanges (DEX) in the spot market rose to 19.5%, a record high, while the futures market share increased to 14.9%, the highest since February. Uniswap led DEX spot activity with $53.4 billion, followed closely by PancakeSwap with $18.5 billion. Binance maintained its leading position in both the spot and derivatives markets, with its spot market share growing by 3.07% to 26.9% and its derivatives market share increasing by 4.63% to 45.8%. The monthly trading volume of RWA perpetual contracts on centralized exchanges surged by 47.8%, setting a record of $460 billion, with Binance leading with a 75.6% market share, followed by OKX (14.8%) and Gate (4.39%). In July, the derivatives market share rose to 80.6%, the highest level since September 2023, with futures outperforming the spot market.
