Core Lightning Releases Security Update, Urges Node Operators to Upgrade Immediately

By: x.com|2026/08/28 17:04:16

Core Lightning version 26.06.7 has been released, addressing multiple vulnerabilities disclosed responsibly over the past three weeks. The AI-generated security reports for the open-source Bitcoin project have recently increased, and specific vulnerability details will remain confidential for two weeks to allow node operators to complete their upgrades before the technical details and source code are made public. Developers warn that disclosing the fixes immediately could allow attackers to reverse-engineer the vulnerabilities and subsequently target nodes that have not yet been updated. All Core Lightning node operators should upgrade immediately; currently, Docker images are not available, and developers explicitly warn users not to wait for the Docker images.
