Crypto-Friendly States Rise in U.S. Entrepreneurship Rankings
The March 2026 update of the Draper Innovation Index shows that regulations and incentives for crypto assets have changed the entrepreneurship landscape in the U.S. Texas has risen to fourth place due to an increase in new company formations focused on crypto and blockchain funding. Oklahoma has climbed to 15th place with a strong rise in startup formations and crypto-related investments. California has dropped to 31st, while New York has fallen to 49th. This highlights the importance of founder-friendly policies alongside economic size. Despite being ranked 40th, New Hampshire placed third in the index. The state's entrepreneur-friendly tax structure has been effective in attracting entrepreneurs.
