Grain Transportation Prices Rise in Ukraine for Long Routes

By: delo.ua|2026/08/28 12:59:34

In Ukraine, the prices for truck transportation of grain over distances greater than 400 km have begun to rise due to the reorientation of cargo flows towards the western borders. On routes from 400 to 700 km and over 900 km, tariffs have increased on average by 2-16%. The main reason is the growth in transportation volumes towards the western borders due to security concerns, which has increased demand for grain trucks and reduced vehicle turnover. On shorter routes of up to 400 km, tariffs have decreased by 5-8% or remained unchanged, which is linked to the growing share of short routes in the market. The main grain flows are formed from the southern and northern regions to the ports of Odesa, including Izmail, Reni, and Orlivka. Shipments to Lviv and Volyn regions are also ongoing, leading to queues at the border. Demand for grain trucks remains high, especially in Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Kharkiv regions.
