On the evening of July 30, He Lifeng, the Chinese lead in Sino-U.S. economic and trade relations and Vice Premier of the State Council, held a video call with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Trade Representative Katherine Tai. The two sides discussed the implementation of the important consensus reached during the meeting between the leaders of China and the United States in Beijing, focusing on maintaining stable economic and trade relations, expanding practical cooperation, and properly addressing each other's concerns. The Chinese side expressed serious concerns regarding recent U.S. economic and trade restrictions against China. Both sides agreed to further leverage the Sino-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, enhance communication, build trust and clarify doubts, expand cooperation, and promote the stable and positive development of Sino-U.S. economic and trade relations, contributing to the establishment of a constructive and stable strategic relationship between China and the United States.
