IDB approves financing of 85 million dollars for Río Negro

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved a program of 85 million dollars for investments in productive infrastructure in Río Negro. The financing will be used to expand irrigated areas, bring energy to new zones, modernize existing systems, and incorporate technology to protect production against climatic events. The program includes five strategic projects aimed at increasing production, generating employment, and attracting private investments. In Guardia Mitre, 85 km of electrical network and 3 transformation centers will be built, which will reduce energy costs by more than 50% per hectare. In Negro Muerto, 32.2 km of electrical network and 7 transformation centers will be installed, incorporating 13,000 productive hectares in the first stage. In the Lower Valley, the IDEVI irrigation system will be modernized with automatic gates and real-time monitoring. Additionally, 6 million dollars will be allocated to install anti-hail nets. Governor Alberto Weretilneck highlighted the confidence of international organizations in the provincial administration and the importance of this financing to realize large-scale projects.
