Inflation in Ukraine in August 2026 Reached 8.1%
Consumer prices in Ukraine rose by 0.1% in August 2026 compared to July. Annual inflation accelerated to 8.1% from 7.7% in July. In July, prices increased by 0.3%, while in June they decreased by 0.1%. Last August, deflation was recorded at 0.2%. Annual inflation has been rising for the second consecutive month: it was 7.2% in June, 7.7% in July, and 8.1% in August, remaining below May's 8.2%. In August 2026, the largest price drops were seen in vegetables by 18.3%, fruits by 12.0%, clothing and footwear by 2.5%, and butter by 0.6%. Prices for water supply increased by 16.8%, sewage by 16.7%, fuel and oils by 8.1%, road passenger transport by 6.6%, eggs by 4.0%, and fish and fish products by 1.6%. Core inflation in August was 0.5% month-on-month compared to 0.3% in July, while the annual rate remained at 8.1%. The NBU downgraded its inflation forecast to 10% for the end of 2026 at the end of July.
