The cumulative trading volume of Korean individual stock perpetual futures has approached 250 trillion won, with SK Hynix accounting for 92% of the total trading. According to a report by Eugene Investment & Securities, from February 19 to March 8, the cumulative trading volume of Korean individual stock perpetual futures traded on 11 global exchanges was approximately $176 billion (about 249 trillion won). SK Hynix's trading volume was $161 billion, representing 92% of the total, while Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor recorded $14.4 billion and $530 million, respectively. Perpetual futures are derivative products that allow investment in price fluctuations of underlying assets without an expiration date, enabling trading even when the stock market is closed. Trading increased after SK Hynix products were listed on Hyperliquid, and the trading volume expanded as Binance launched additional products. The price of perpetual futures on Hyperliquid may serve as a leading indicator of SK Hynix's stock price direction before the domestic stock market opens. Perpetual futures based on KORU saw $46.35 billion in trading and offer leverage of up to 50 times. The report analyzed that the trading gap in the domestic stock market and the demand for leverage have driven the growth of related markets. Researcher Kim Se-hee stated that Korean stock perpetual futures could become a new supply and demand variable in the domestic stock market in the future.
