Ledger Faces Class Action Lawsuit in New York for Incomplete Disclosure of Security Incident
Hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger is facing a class action lawsuit in New York. The complaint states that a security incident in December 2023 resulted in the exposure of customers' personal information, including names, email addresses, and phone numbers, and that Ledger failed to disclose this information in a timely and complete manner. Hackers exploited the leaked contact information to impersonate officials, tricking customers into approving fraudulent transactions and stealing their cryptocurrency assets, with the information subsequently appearing on the dark web.
