NERC to Inspect 11 Regional Gas Companies Due to Anomalies in Gas Consumption
The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NERC) will conduct unscheduled inspections of 11 gas distribution system operators (GDSOs). The inspections were initiated following a request from the LLC "Gas Supply Company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" regarding possible violations in the transmission of natural gas consumption data. A letter from the Security Service of Ukraine also raised concerns about risks to state interests and the functioning of gas distribution networks. NERC will verify the compliance of data submitted by GDSOs to the information platform of the Gas Transmission System Operator with actual meter readings and legislation. Anomalies in gas consumption have been identified: sharp fluctuations in volumes, deviations from average indicators, and multiple data adjustments. This data affects the calculations of gas costs for citizens. The inspections will involve the following companies: JSC "Hodyachgaz", JSC "Kyivgaz", GP "Kremenets Gas Supply and Sales Management", JSC "Kremenchuhgaz", JSC "Lubnygaz", JSC "Odesagas", JSC "Poltavagas", JSC "Ternopilgorgaz", JSC "Umangaz", JSC "Khersongaz", JSC "Shepetivkagaz". Based on the results of the inspections, NERC will provide a legal assessment of the identified facts.
