NOWPayments and BlockSec Release Compliance Checklist for Secure Cryptocurrency Payments, Covering 25 Control Measures
On July 27, NOWPayments and BlockSec jointly released the "Compliance Checklist for Security and Technical Compliance of Cryptocurrency Payment Systems," aimed at enhancing the security of cryptocurrency payment systems. The checklist includes 9 major categories of security and compliance, comprising 25 control measures that address areas such as private key and wallet security, smart contract security, transaction verification and signing, identity and account management, domain security, on-chain monitoring and incident response, AML/CFT technical compliance, stablecoin freeze risk management, and continuous improvement. NOWPayments pointed out that the main risks faced by cryptocurrency payment systems include private key leakage, suspicious transactions, account takeover, and stablecoin freezes. Due to the irreversibility of on-chain transfers, businesses need to establish robust wallet management, transaction approval, and compliance monitoring mechanisms. Andy Zhou, co-founder of BlockSec, stated that many businesses mistakenly view cryptocurrency payments as traditional online payments, and weak key management along with insufficient compliance checks could lead to permanent loss of funds. This checklist can support businesses during the deployment of cryptocurrency payments, vendor assessment phases, and daily security reviews, helping teams identify risks and clarify responsibilities. NOWPayments currently supports over 350 cryptocurrencies and more than 30 stablecoins, providing cryptocurrency payment, automatic exchange, and settlement services. BlockSec offers services such as smart contract auditing, real-time security monitoring, and on-chain investigations.
