OpenAI Acquires Glass Imaging for Over $300 Million
OpenAI has acquired the smartphone camera technology company Glass Imaging for over $300 million. Founded in 2019, the company has raised approximately $30 million in funding. Glass Imaging was established by former Apple engineers Ziv Attar and Tom Bishop, and it primarily utilizes neural networks to optimize the camera systems of various smartphones, enhancing imaging quality and overcoming the physical size limitations of mobile cameras. OpenAI has not yet responded to this transaction, but market reports suggest that it is developing hardware products such as smartphones, headphones, and AI companion devices.
