On August 14, Serenity announced that the mass production of semiconductor glass substrates may be delayed by another quarter. Samsung Electro-Mechanics has postponed its investment plans due to bottlenecks encountered during the reliability assessments of glass substrate prototypes by its customers, adjusting the project launch date to 2028 at the latest quarterly earnings meeting. Additionally, the mass production timeline for glass substrates from SKC's Absolics has also been pushed back from the second half of 2026 to the first half of 2027. Currently, the main production milestones in the industry are: SKC Absolics has been delayed from the second half of 2026 to the first half of 2027, while Samsung has postponed from the second half of 2027 to the first half of 2028. Serenity believes that while delays in mass production timelines are not necessarily negative, the adjustment of the glass substrate industry's schedule seems imminent, and the ramp-up pace of some related manufacturers may follow the mass production timelines of major companies, including LPK, Philoptics, and E&R.
