The South Korean government is set to announce a major energy investment project in the United States to support the development of artificial intelligence. The agreement is potentially worth over $100 billion and plans to fund the construction of up to eight nuclear power plants and a natural gas project. Last October, Trump and Lee Jae-myung reached an agreement to reduce most tariffs from 25% to 15%, including those affecting the South Korean automotive industry. In exchange, South Korea committed to investing $350 billion in the U.S. and additionally purchasing $100 billion worth of American energy. The two sides are currently close to finalizing two agreements, which could be announced as early as next week.
