Staking Service Provider Kiln: Today starts the orderly shutdown of all its Ethereum validating nodes to ensure the integrity of staked assets
BlockBeats News, September 10th. Staking service provider Kiln announced that after SwissBorg was hacked, losing approximately $41 million worth of SOL, all Ethereum validator nodes will undergo an orderly shutdown starting on September 10, 2025. The process is expected to take between 10 and 42 days to complete, with an additional 9 days for withdrawals, as a precautionary measure to ensure asset security.
The Kiln team stated that rewards will still be received during the shutdown period, no other signs of fund loss have been detected, some services are temporarily suspended, and infrastructure is being strengthened. A detailed report will be released afterwards. The team emphasized that the validator node shutdown is a responsible measure to protect stakers' security. They are closely monitoring the entire process to ensure the security and reliability of the service.
In yesterday's news, the SwissBorg CEO issued a public statement stating that they are actively investigating the security incident that occurred yesterday. The incident was not an attack on the SwissBorg platform itself but rather an external DeFi wallet used to operate the SOL Earn strategy that was exploited due to a vulnerability.
