Ukrainian agribusinesses increased apple exports in the season from July 2025 to April 2026, sending more than 22,000 tons of products. Apple imports into Ukraine during the same period decreased to 5,500 tons. In the 2024/25 season, Ukraine exported 16,800 tons of apples, while imports amounted to 18,200 tons, resulting in a negative trade balance. The increase in the gross harvest of commercial apples was the main reason for the rise in exports, which allowed for the coverage of domestic demand and an increase in supply volumes abroad. The main importers of Ukrainian apples in the current season are the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Sweden. In the 2024/25 season, apple exports totaled 16,800 tons worth $10,100,000, which is 64% less than in the 2023/24 season when exports reached 47,000 tons. The new season is expected to bring a larger gross harvest, despite unfavorable weather conditions in the spring.
