Ukraine's Utility Debt Reaches 104.2 Billion UAH
As of June 30, 2026, the debt of Ukrainians for housing and communal services amounted to 104.2 billion UAH, with the majority related to heating and hot water. In the second quarter of 2026, household consumers were charged 53.5 billion UAH for utility services, while the population paid 67.1 billion UAH, indicating the repayment of debts during the inter-heating period. The structure of the debt at the end of June is as follows: supply of thermal energy and hot water — 33.8 billion UAH, supply and distribution of natural gas — 29.1 billion UAH, supply and distribution of electricity — 17.3 billion UAH, centralized water supply and sewage — 10.5 billion UAH, management of apartment buildings — 10.1 billion UAH, waste management — 3.4 billion UAH. Over the past six months, more than 108,000 enforcement proceedings have been opened in Ukraine due to utility debts, with the highest number of debtors registered in the Kharkiv region.
