Vitalik Buterin Announces 90% Reduction in Ethereum Transaction Fees

By: mihanblockchain.com|2026/09/06 09:30:00

Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, announced that with new optimizations in the Ethereum transaction format, 90% of users will experience a significant reduction in fees. This optimization involves separating the two main components of transactions: actions and dependencies. Dependencies include the prerequisites for validating transactions, while actions constitute the core of the transaction. By processing dependencies in parallel, the network speed is dramatically increased, and the computational load is reduced. Buterin also pointed out the difference between dynamic and static transactions, emphasizing that simpler components should incur lower fees. He also introduced the EIP-8141 proposal, which moves towards a more integrated system with a minimal callback list.
