BlockBeats News, July 24th, Web3 domain registrar Freename announced the completion of a $6.5 million Series A funding round. This round of funding was led by Entrée Capital, with participation from Polymorphic Capital, as well as its seed round investors Sparkle Ventures, Blockchain Founders Fund, and Golden Record Ventures. Additionally, new angel investors joined, including Target Global co-founder Mike Lobanov, the Rashwan Family Office, and former CEO of Coinbase Custody Aaron Schnarch.
The company focuses on bridging the traditional DNS with the blockchain domain system. Freename's core technology includes a cross-chain domain conflict management system, supporting multiple-chain domain resolution such as Polygon and Solana, while remaining compatible with traditional browsers. Its innovative solution allows users to create custom top-level domains and profit through subdomain sales. The funds will be used for product development and global market expansion.
