Appsolix Decides on a Capital Increase of 404.3 Billion Won
Appsolix has decided to conduct a capital increase of 404.3 billion won. The funds raised will be used for glass substrate evaluation, customer certification, and improvements to some production facilities. SKC announced that Appsolix will proceed with the capital increase through a shareholder allocation method. New shares will be preferentially allocated to existing shareholders based on their shareholding ratio, and additional subscriptions will be possible if there are any unallocated shares. SKC holds 70.05% of Appsolix's shares, while Applied Materials holds 29.95%. This capital increase is a procedure to secure working capital and funding for facility reinforcement needed at the commercialization stage, with the use of funds focused on glass substrate evaluation and customer certification. Glass substrates are next-generation substrates used in semiconductor packaging, responding to the demand for high-performance semiconductor packaging by utilizing the properties of glass materials. Appsolix is preparing for commercialization centered around its Georgia plant and is pursuing a two-track strategy to commercialize embedding and non-embedding products. Previously, SKC secured funds for the glass substrate business and financial structure improvement through its own capital increase, and this capital increase aims to separately expand the funding for the commercialization of glass substrates in the restructuring of the business.
