Expansion of US Money Supply Forecasts Long-Term Bitcoin Rise
As long as the US government's expansion of the money supply continues, a long-term rise in Bitcoin (BTC) is expected. On the 25th, Anthony Pompliano, CEO of Bitcoin-based financial services company ProCap Financial, appeared on Fox Business to explain the background of Bitcoin's rise, stating, "The US government will never stop printing money." He emphasized that as long as the US continues to print money, Bitcoin will continue to rise in the long term, highlighting Bitcoin's scarcity. The maximum supply of Bitcoin is capped at 21 million coins. Pompliano identified the recent increase in Bitcoin's price as being partly due to the US Treasury's expansion of long-term Treasury bond buybacks. He explained, "The Treasury's announcement to double its long-term bond purchases has acted as a short-term catalyst." As a long-term factor for rising prices, he mentioned the spread of artificial intelligence (AI), predicting that as AI develops and information and technology become more abundant, Bitcoin's relative scarcity will become even more pronounced. Pompliano added, "While AI and Bitcoin may seem like different technologies, the more AI spreads, the more valuable Bitcoin will become."
