Imran Khan Highlights User Relationships as Key Competitive Factor for Crypto Firms
Imran Khan, co-founder of the Alliance, stated that user products and relationships will become the core competitive factors for crypto companies, surpassing public blockchains. Speaking at 5 AM KST on the 7th, Khan remarked, "In the future, the importance of public blockchains will diminish, and the focus of competition will shift to end-user products." He noted that the launchpad market is converging in a similar manner, with platforms possessing strong network effects being advantageous. Launchpads serve as platforms for new tokens or projects to gather initial users and liquidity, acting as a conduit for initial distribution and community formation. Khan explained that it is becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate with simple listing and fundraising functions, and users will seek reasons to stay based on accessibility, transaction convenience, and the extent of liquidity connections rather than the name of the chain. He added that on-chain frontends can bundle multiple trading venues, potentially lowering costs for users. Such changes may also manifest in lending, swap routing, and cross-chain bridges, emphasizing that how users access services through various screens and apps will be central to competition. Ultimately, user relationships could serve as the basis for value distribution on top of the infrastructure.
