Shiba Inu Joins Six Approved Crypto Assets in Japan
Shiba Inu has taken a significant step in Japan, as local crypto company Laser Digital Japan has received regulatory approval to add SHIB to its platform among six approved crypto assets. These assets include Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin. The Financial Services Agency of Japan approved Laser Digital Japan's registration on August 21, marking the first new crypto exchange license granted in four years. The inclusion of Shiba Inu in this list was made possible through the Japan Virtual and Crypto Assets Exchange Association's Green List initiative. In April, Rakuten opened SHIB transactions to its 44 million users and 5 million merchant locations. Additionally, Mercari offered SHIB transactions to 24 million active users through its Mercoin unit. Laser Digital Japan plans to provide wholesale liquidity to local crypto platforms and aims to eventually open trading access to companies and investment funds. This development strengthens SHIB's position among regulated financial assets in Japan.
